ePoster (not available at IPAC'17)

Update 9 February 2017: We regret to not be able to offer ePosters during IPAC'17. All authors who indicated interest in having an ePoster are kindly requested to provide a regular paper poster during the poster session. The below information is therefore no more applicable for IPAC'17 and only stays on for future IPAC organisers to possibly draw upon requirements, technical considerations etc.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Subject to funding, the IPAC’17 LOC plans to offer 15 ePoster panels. With 4 posters sessions between Monday and Thursday, this would result in 60 posters which can be presented digitally.

In order to determine demand, we ask you to indicate your interest in creating an ePoster when you submit your abstract in SPMS. Please do so only after you've read the below.

The selection of the 60 abstracts to become ePosters will be at the discretion of the LOC. Please note that the ePoster should not simply be a digital version of a (static) PDF.  In order to be eligible, you agree to provide animated content in your poster (embedded video, animations, etc.) when declaring an interest in having an ePoster.

Confirmation of acceptance of abstract and ePoster submission will be given in March 2017.

What is an Electronic Poster or ePoster?

For IPAC’17 sixty authors will again have the opportunity to present an Electronic Poster or ePoster which were first introduced at IPAC’12. An ePoster utilizes a large monitor and computer to display multimedia versions of a poster. It gives an opportunity for a computer savvy presenter in the poster session to more effectively convey information that would not necessarily be possible with a traditional printed poster. It also enhances visualization to attract interest of attendees.

Guidelines for an ePoster

Do not have a static ePoster

ePosters are intended to provide a display of information that is not possible with a traditional printed poster. Embedding multimedia content, along with static elements, such as titles, logos, and summaries, would be a good way to convey information. Examples of dynamic visual elements include videos, animated charts or graphs, scrolling text, or 3D rotation of a model.

Your ePoster cannot be an oral presentation

The intention of an ePoster does not include attracting visitors to stay for a long oral, video, or slideshow presentation. The ePoster should look like a regular poster (i.e. 1 page or slide) with multimedia content embedded. Display elements can either loop for a minute or less, or be activated and controlled by the poster presenter on command. Remember, you are to interact with those who are interested in your ePoster, not give a presentation to an audience.

Do not use a webpage that can already be accessed via Internet

ePosters are meant to present new information. The attendees will benefit from interacting with you, not viewing a website that he or she can access without going to the conference. But this does not mean you can’t use HTML, CSS, Java, Flash, etc. for your presentation, and in fact you may use these coding systems. Please see specification below for more information on what media will be supported.

No audio allowed.

No internet access provided.

A three page paper will still need to be submitted for proceedings.

ePoster presentations are similar to regular posters in one respect. The author must contribute a paper as for regular poster presentations. However, ePosters cannot be your paper manuscript.

ePoster Sessions

ePosters will be uploaded prior to the conference via a link to be provided. The LOC will ensure that the ePosters are uploaded to the ePoster stations on the day of your session. ePosters are to be displayed from 12:00 to 18:00; unmanned from 12:00 to 16:00, and must be manned from 16:00 to 18:00.
